Ardenloft Method / Legal
Cookie Policy
1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains cookies and similar browser technologies in connection with the Ardenloft Method website. It should be read with the Privacy Policy when you want to understand how technical website information and personal information are handled. The website is intended to be hosted on Shopify, so actual platform cookies depend on the live storefront configuration and installed services.
This policy distinguishes the supplied custom website sections from hosting and platform features. A description of a possible category does not mean that every cookie in that category is currently present. Cookie practices must remain consistent with the live site, including changes made through theme settings, customer privacy settings, analytics tools or installed apps.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small record that a website asks your browser to store. The browser may return that record on a later request, helping the service maintain a session, remember a choice or recognise an interaction. Cookies can be set by the website domain or by a third-party service embedded in or connected to the website.
Related technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags and software identifiers. Local storage can retain browser data after a tab closes, while session storage is usually limited to a browser tab’s session. A tracking pixel or tag may communicate technical information to a service provider. A browser-side animation or visual transition is not itself a cookie, and a file download or image request does not automatically mean that advertising tracking has been added.
3. Session and persistent cookies
Session cookies ordinarily expire when the browser session ends. Persistent cookies remain until their configured expiry or until you remove them. Expiry periods vary by purpose, provider and platform configuration. The fact that a cookie is persistent does not determine by itself whether it is necessary or optional; its purpose and the applicable rules are also relevant.
Cookie names and lifetimes can change as Shopify or another provider updates its systems. We do not provide a fixed list of names that would imply a verified live inventory when the particular storefront has not been inspected. The controls and information available on the live site should describe the technologies actually enabled, and the business should review that configuration when installing or removing apps.
4. Strictly necessary technologies
Strictly necessary technologies support essential website operation and security. Depending on the live platform, they may be used for routing requests, maintaining a session, preventing abuse, remembering privacy choices or providing a function you specifically request. Applicable law may allow necessary technologies without optional-cookie consent, but the purpose still needs to be limited to what is necessary.
Shopify may use its own technical cookies to operate the storefront and platform features. If a function such as customer accounts or checkout is later enabled, its necessary cookies may differ from those needed for this informational consulting website. The custom consulting sections do not add a shopping cart, customer account system or payment workflow. Browser settings that block necessary technologies may affect platform features or prevent a privacy choice from being remembered.
5. Preference technologies
Preference technologies remember choices such as language, display preferences or a selected setting when those features exist. A preference cookie should serve a clear purpose connected to the visitor’s choice. Some preferences may qualify as necessary for a requested function; others may require consent under the rules that apply.
The supplied navigation menu, testimonial slider, appearance animations and project request form operate in the current page. They do not save a visitor’s service selection, review position or completed request in local storage, session storage or cookies. Closing or reloading the page may therefore reset interface state. Your browser’s autofill and saved-entry settings are separate browser features and are controlled by you.
6. Analytics technologies
Analytics technologies can help a website operator understand page use, errors, device characteristics or aggregated interaction patterns. Some analytics processing involves identifiers or personal information and may require consent or another appropriate legal basis. Analytics should not be treated as necessary simply because it is useful to the operator.
The supplied custom sections do not include a separate third-party analytics script or analytics pixel. Shopify platform features, theme code or installed apps may have analytics capabilities configured by the store owner. If optional analytics is enabled, the live notice and consent controls must reflect the service actually used. A visitor’s refusal of optional analytics should be respected where the applicable law or platform configuration requires it.
7. Advertising and marketing technologies
Advertising technologies may support audience measurement, personalised advertising, attribution or recognition across websites and services. Depending on the jurisdiction and activity, they may require opt-in consent, an opt-out choice or other restrictions on disclosure and processing. Giving contact details for a consulting discussion is not automatic consent to unrelated advertising.
No advertising pixel, remarketing tag, social feed or embedded advertising service is added by the supplied custom website sections. The sections do not send completed form fields to advertising partners. If marketing tools are installed later through Shopify or an app, their purposes, providers and privacy controls must be explained before they are used where required. We do not claim that all possible platform configurations are free of marketing technologies.
8. What the request form does
The current project request form validates the required fields in your browser and shows a confirmation on the same page. It does not transmit the completed request to Ardenloft Method, create a stored business enquiry or take payment. It does not set cookies or use browser storage to retain the name, business name, email address, phone number, service selection, message or contact-permission checkbox.
The form values are reset after the confirmation appears. Information may still be visible to you while you are entering it and may be handled by browser autofill or extensions under your own settings. If a later version connects the form to a delivery or customer-management service, the corresponding notice and technical arrangements must be updated to describe the actual processing rather than relying on this browser-only description.
9. Shopify privacy settings and consent controls
When the live storefront uses Shopify’s customer privacy controls, those controls should be configured for the regions and processing activities relevant to the business. Shopify’s consent features can communicate a visitor’s choices to compatible platform-managed functionality. The cookie banner, where enabled, should offer clear information and the choices required by applicable law.
A visitor should be able to decline optional purposes where an opt-in regime applies and change a previously given choice through the controls made available by the live storefront. Necessary site operation should not be made dependent on accepting unrelated advertising. Platform settings and the behaviour of installed apps need to be checked together because an app may require its own integration to respect a consent signal. This policy does not itself switch tracking on or off.
10. Browser controls and preference signals
Most browsers let you inspect stored cookies, remove them, block future cookies or restrict third-party storage. Some browsers also provide private-browsing modes, tracking protection or other privacy features. The available controls and their effects differ between browser versions and devices. Deleting cookies can remove a saved preference, including a record of an earlier cookie choice.
Where applicable law and the live platform require recognition of a browser-based opt-out signal, such as Global Privacy Control, that signal should be respected for the relevant processing. A general “Do Not Track” header is not implemented consistently by all browsers or websites and should not be assumed to disable every optional technology. You can also use the live site’s available privacy controls or contact us about a particular concern.
11. Third-party services and embedded content
The custom sections use uploaded image files and locally included font data rather than a third-party social feed or embedded map. The website does not add clickable email, telephone or map-service links in those sections. Hosting providers and content-delivery services still receive technical requests when a browser loads files, and the platform’s own practices remain relevant.
If a video, booking tool, chat widget, analytics service or other third-party embed is introduced later, it may set additional cookies or communicate data to its provider. The purpose, provider and choices must be reviewed before deployment. Relevant third-party terms and privacy notices should be considered as part of that review. Simply describing a tool in our consulting service does not install it in your browser.
12. Review, changes and questions
Cookie settings should be reviewed when the website theme, apps, forms or platform features change. Optional technologies should not be added silently while the policy continues to describe a different configuration. We may revise this policy to reflect changes in the live site, providers or applicable requirements. The last updated date identifies the current version.
If you want to understand a cookie or browser interaction you encountered, contact us with the relevant page, approximate time and a description of the issue. Avoid sending passwords or unnecessary personal information. We will explain the practices relevant to the website and the services actually enabled, and direct you to appropriate platform controls where they are available.
